Halloween is a huge holiday in the United States and other Western countries, but is it celebrated here in Korea? I went out Halloween weekend to interview Koreans and expats about their Halloween activities, and I found the tradition is alive and well here in Seoul, albeit largely supported by foreigners and their Korean friends. Some of the Koreans I spoke with who do not celebrate Halloween cited a conflict with their Christian beliefs and that they didn't think many Koreans knew a lot about Halloween, just that it was celebrated by Americans and other foreigners, thus making it popular.
