It's no secret that plastic surgery is becoming increasingly popular here in South Korea, but a story earlier this year brought the topic back into the headlines. Owners of a plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam have been fined 3 million won and faced up to two years in prison for using chin bone fragments from around 1,000 patients to fill two large see-through columns in their office. Each fragment was even labeled with the name of the client it belonged to. The clinic tweeted a photo of the columns, leading to the fine and removal of the bones from the office.

I spoke to people on the streets of Seoul about plastic surgery, and almost every single one of them had heard of the incident. And with so many bones available at just one plastic surgery clinic in Gangnam, I asked if they knew anyone who has had a little work done here in Korea, and why Koreans are choosing to go under the knife.
